The Lane Wars game

Lane Wars is a single-player game. It doesn't send gameplay or personal information to us or anyone else. To work, it keeps the following in its own storage on your device:

  • your campaign progress, such as provinces, armies, your capital, diplomacy and quests;
  • your settings, such as language, music and sound volume, and the map view;
  • which tutorials and introductions you have already seen;
  • the names and crests chosen or generated for your realm.

This information stays on your device. We can't see it, and we can't recover or restore it for you. Uninstalling the game, or clearing its app data, deletes it.

Language. The game reads your device's language setting to pick which language to show. This happens on your device, and the setting isn't sent anywhere.

Internet access. The Android app declares internet access because its web-based engine requires it. The game loads its content from files bundled with the app and doesn't contact our servers. Links in the game's credits open in your browser, where that website's own policy applies.

Device backups. If Android backup or iCloud backup is on, your device may include the game's storage in a backup to your Google or Apple account. Your device settings and Google's or Apple's terms control those backups. We have no access to them.

App stores & test builds

Google Play and the Apple App Store distribute Lane Wars. When you download, buy, update or review the game, they process your information under their own policies: Google's Privacy Policy and Apple's Privacy Policy. If you pay for Lane Wars or anything in it, the store handles the payment. We never receive your card or payment details.

The stores give us summary statistics, such as install counts and ratings. They also send us technical crash and performance reports. On Android these come from Google Play's Android vitals. On iOS you only send them if you chose to share analytics with app developers in your device settings. These reports describe the device model, system version and what went wrong. They don't tell us who you are, and we use them only to fix problems.

Testing. We sometimes invite players to try Lane Wars before release through Google Play testing tracks, Apple TestFlight, or a browser build shared by an unlisted link. If you join a store test, we receive the email address of the store account you join with, so that we can give you access. TestFlight lets you send us feedback, screenshots and crash reports, and you choose what to send. A browser build keeps its saves in your browser's storage on that device. Clearing the site's data deletes them. Browser builds are hosted like our websites (see below).

Our websites

Google Firebase Hosting serves lobeiragames.com, lane-wars.com and our browser test builds. Like other hosting services, it processes technical request data, including IP addresses, requested pages and browser information, to deliver and protect the sites. lobeiragames.com uses no analytics, advertising pixels or cookies.

Analytics on lane-wars.com. lane-wars.com asks before it uses Google Analytics. If you accept, Google Analytics shows us how many people visit, which pages they read and how they found the site. It records the pages you view, the referring website, your browser, device type and screen size, and an approximate location. It works out the location from your IP address and doesn't keep the address. It sets first-party cookies (_ga and _ga_*) that recognise a returning browser for up to two years. We see this information only as reports, and we don't use it for advertising. Google processes it under Google's policy for partner sites.

If you decline, or don't answer, nothing is sent to Google Analytics and no analytics cookies are set. The site remembers your answer in your browser's local storage. You can change it at any time with the Cookies link at the bottom of every lane-wars.com page. Declining deletes the analytics cookies. You can also block cookies in your browser or install the Google Analytics opt-out add-on. The site works the same either way.

The contact form on lobeiragames.com opens your own email app. It doesn't send anything to our server or save a draft on the website.

Email & support

If you email us, whether for support, privacy, testing or anything else, we receive your email address and whatever you include in the message. We use it to reply, help with your request and keep related correspondence. Please don't send sensitive personal information unless your request needs it. We don't add people who contact us to a marketing mailing list.

Services & sharing

We work with a small number of providers. Google provides website hosting (Firebase), website analytics (Google Analytics) and Google Play. Apple provides the App Store and TestFlight. Our email provider handles the messages you send us. These providers may process data in countries other than yours, under their own safeguards for international transfers.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it or if we need to protect our rights or someone's safety. We don't sell personal information, share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, or use it to track you across other companies' apps and websites. You can read about Firebase Hosting's data practices in Google's Firebase privacy information.

Where a legal basis is required, such as under the GDPR or Brazil's LGPD, we rely on our legitimate interests in running, securing and improving Lane Wars and our websites and in answering messages. We also rely on steps you ask us to take, such as adding you to a test, and on legal obligations. We use Google Analytics on lane-wars.com only with your consent.

Retention & your rights

You control game data on your device and can delete it at any time. We keep correspondence while we need it for your request, any follow-up and our recordkeeping obligations, then delete it. We keep tester email addresses while a test runs and remove them when it ends or when you ask. Google Analytics keeps visit data for lane-wars.com for at most 14 months. Google and Apple keep store, crash and hosting data under their own retention practices.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal information, to learn who we share it with, to object to or restrict certain uses, and to withdraw consent. Contact us at contact@lobeiragames.com and we will respond within the time the law requires. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority. In Brazil, that's the ANPD.

Children

Lane Wars is a strategy game for a general audience. It isn't directed at children, and it collects no personal information from any player, including children. If you believe a child has emailed us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes

If Lane Wars or our websites change how they handle information, we will update this page and the date above. Examples include online play, accounts, analytics, advertising or new purchase options. We will make the update before the change takes effect. Where the law requires it, we will also ask for your consent in the game.
